Activity-dependent neuroplasticity

The capacity of the nervous system to adapt and learn, long after brain injury (months and even years), has been well documented over the past 30 years and is captured in the processes associated with activity-dependent neuroplasticity.
These processes are present as a person attempts to challenge their body to progressive amounts of stress, such as occurs when engaged in high intensity exercise.
Since we develop intervention plans that are specifically designed to challenge the patient's performance at the foundational, functional, and skills-based levels of recovery, each person will experience progressive positive adaptations and enhanced learning that they can use in their daily lives.
